It was only at the talk stage, when I met with Janet the wedding planner, who would be coordinating this wedding in Jamaica. Working along side Janet previously, she said it was interesting for her to see things from a photographers perspective. Eventually flights were booked and caribbean bound. Touch down, and with the bright warm Jamaican sunshine, I was ready to go. It was a joy meeting Collette, who is bubbly and outgoing, and Kayle, a calm and laid back character, and both so well suited. With so many decisions they both had to make, I was so excited that they would choose me to shoot their big day.
The wedding took place at Richmond Hill Inn, Montego Bay Jamaica. Janet, who runs her own event management company lotuseventsmanagement worked very hard to bring everything together. She styled the venue beautifully with table centrepieces and other accessories that were transported from the UK to Jamaica.
On the big day, we had the warm heat from the early morning sunshine, to the heavy rain, but it seemed the weather gave us just enough gaps to take the images we needed for the day. It was lovely meeting both sides of the family and friends, and a good time was had by all.
A day before the wedding, we arranged to have a pre shoot. On that day the heavens decided to open up, and it rained for the most part of the day, so by 4pm when the weather had stopped raining, although the condition seemed perfect, we now had to beat the clock and be ready before we lost the light. We started at 5.15pm, i remember that detail because of my concern for the change of light. twenty minutes shooting and we were done, it was too dark to continue unless i had more equipment. But we got the images, and here is one from that evening.
These images are stunning Evette, I knew they would be as I never expected anything less. Love your style and attention to detail. Every frame is just beautiful. I had so much fun working with you. The bride and groom were so happy. I can’t wait to see the rest of the images and maybe working with you again in the future. Thanks once again for everything. Janet x
